Structured and current retailing denotes trading activities undertaken by licensed retailers and includes set-ups such as hypermarkets, supermarkets, retail chains, and many others. The advent of everything under one roof, such as shopping malls, along with customer ability to spend more has resulted in large employment generation. It has led to a spurt in the demand of trained personnel, readily available to assist the customer in every way. The manner in which the sales team performs can be the deciding factor for success or failure of a business.

A retailing process involves a direct interface with the customer and the coordination of business activities from the design stage of a product to its delivery and post-delivery service. The industry needs trained and skilled personnel who can work as per organizational procedures, ensure good sales and customer etiquette, and take the business forward
